World's Music Day aka 21st of June :-)

Updated: Jul 18, 2021

On this special day, We would love to share a short “history of when and how World’s Music Day" started.

And before we get started, Wishing you all a very happy World's Music Day.

And here we go.......

World Music Day :

Music is as being an "Imitation of Life", and the best way to translate our souls & feelings deserves a special day in the year to be celebrated, praised and respected by the world. World Music Day is celebrated on 21st June every single year since 1982 to promote the love for music throughout the world.

History: In October 1981, Maurice Fleuret became Director of Music and Dance at the French Ministry of Culture at Jack Lang's request. He applied his reflections to the musical practice and its evolution: "The music everywhere and the concert nowhere". When he discovered, in a 1982 study on the cultural habits of the French, that five million people, one young person out of two, played a musical instrument, he began to dream of a way to bring people out on the streets. It first took place in 1982 in Paris as the Fête de la Musique.

Ever since, the festival has become an international phenomenon, celebrated on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries, including China, India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, the United States, the UK, and Japan. Now, this day is celebrated globally as World Music Day.

On this special day, the citizens of a city or country are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Free concerts are also organized, where musicians play for fun and not for payment on this day. This day is a wonderful opportunity for freshers and newbies to introduce themselves and showcase their talent to the world on any platform and gain attention. This special occasion also is used every single year to promote the importance of music on a global platform.

So, we conclude that "Every day could be a music day, but not every day could actually be a World's Music Day."

Thank you :-)

With love
